Update on the Subaru Legacy Project

This week the news came to me that someone has a Legacy Turbo hood for sale. I started thinking mmm, I could mount a Legacy Turbo hood with a small air duct... It looks great and I have the option to install a top mount intercooler!! The ECU i got last sunday is good for 260 BHP and a MY97-99 TMIC goes well  up to 300 BHP. So the choice has been made!  Legacy turbo hood and a TMIC.

This week I cleaned the engine bay and gave the new subframe an anti-rust treatment. Cleaning stuff works great on the mind!!

Almost new (3K miles) exhaust manifold!!! TD05 turbo, Flywheel and clutch:

Couple of parts still have to come:
- Peddlebox for hydraulic clutch
- New Walbro 255L/H fuel pump
- Gaskets and hoses and some sensors
- Top mount intercooler
- BOV (Blow off valve)
- Inlet from airfilter to manifold
- A new peace of wire harness for turbo management

I think i forgot a few things...

Subaru Legacy Turbo Project

This marriage is over, the old engine and transmission are going their own way!
Time for a new Turbo relationship!

This subframe is going to be replaced bij a "Turbo" subframe. Only difference is a dent for the exhaust uppipe. After that it's time to clean the engine area!!

Subaru Legacy Turbo Project

Finally the Subaru Legacy Turbo Project has started.
This weekend the old engine and transmission will be picked up.

I'm going to mount a Legacy Type RA turbo transmission.
The engine will arrive in a couple of weeks, with a TD05 turbo and Japanese ECU.
Goal is to put out 260 BHP

Dismount and mounting an engine is the easy part!
