Suzuki GSX-R 1100 K Fork seal replacement

It took some effort to take the front fork apart but it's in great shape. The round copper shims with coating are ready to be re-used!!
All parts will be cleaned and put back together with fresh oil and new fork seals. I'm going to try 15w40 fork oil this time, since the springs are 23 years old it should feel firm like Megan Fox. :-)

Hollies Chevy Blazer K5

The Chevy Blazer K5 has to go to the inspection about safety and emission once every 2 years. In England it's called "M.O.T." and in Holland "A.P.K."   It just got a new set of wheels with a fresh paint and good tires. Emission isn't a problem since it runs good on LPG and there is very little rust on this original Chevy from Calli.

Since it was a hot day we had to cool Roxanne too with some cool fresh air!! :-)

Untill the next King Cruise !!

Maintenance Suzuki GSXR 1127 1989

We had a nice evening in "Het Pandje". Did some maintenance work to the Suzuki.
I also saw a Honda gas tank prepped for a clear paint and later the BMW 520 with an open dashboard.

Tonight I degreased the brake calipers of the GSXR. They were completely oiled up because of leaking fork seals and standing still for 3 years in a barn. The first time I had these in my hands, 4 piston Nissin calipers with clean brake oil inside (Nice). I discoverd a small crack in one of the brake hose fittings towards the brake handle, it will be replaced by a stainless steel brake line.

In the next days I will replace the front fork seals, I can use a DIY special tool from a handy guy! The fork seals are inexpensive and you get to clean alle the parts of the front fork and check your wheel bearings!! That sticker above the the gas cap is from the Nurburgring, I drove this bike twice on the Nordschleife once with plastic second time without plastic! It was awesome but I won't do it again.
Only on four wheels because of all the dangers!

Last time I recplaced the clutch hose and cleaned most of the grease that was packed near the front sprocket. Before it will be used we'll synchronise the carbs and check vacuum hoses and check oile pressure etc.  This 1127cc 4 cilinder engine is oil cooled and carries 4,5 liter oil. It has torque and horsepower! No comparison to today's R1's and GSXR's but it will do 250 km in 4th gear in streetfighter outfit.

 Great machine!
